Our Products
Medicinal White Oils
The SIPMED, SIPMED LP and SIPMED USP series are highly refined, extremely pure, colourless, odourless and tasteless pharmaceutical grade white mineral oils that meet the requirements of the European and US Pharmacopoeia.
These products are used as emollients or carrier fluids in many applications, including personal care, baby care, dermatological preparations, petroleum jelly manufacture, sun care and tissue manufacture.
Kosher and Halal approved, the high purity nature of these key oils means that they can also be used as ingredients in the formulations of food grade lubricants and SIP supports this sector through its wide range of NSF H1, HX-1 and H3 registrations.
The SIPMED grades are also used as key ingredients in the paper and pulp sector to produce food packaging
Premium Industrial Base Oils
Our comprehensive range of premium Industrial base oils are helping to deliver longer life, improved operational effectiveness over a wider temperature range, greater equipment protection and reduced impact upon the environment.
With experience across so many industry sectors, we apply our knowledge and expertise to deliver speciality base oil solutions, allowing you to formulate premium quality lubricants that will operate in the severest of industrial applications.
SIP has an extensive product portfolio, marketed under different SIP brand names according to the end application, to support the wide range of applications within the Industrial lubricant sector.
SIPMET
The SIPMET and SIPMET ECO range have been specifically designed for formulating premium neat metalworking fluids. The products have low pour points and Noack volatilities, which provide better oil mist control, and with only trace levels of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), they are ideal for formulating oils that comply with stringent factory environmental requirements for oil mist, helping to overcome manufacturers’ health and safety concerns.
These products have a carbon footprint that is 30% less than conventional mineral base oils, and because the specifications and quality are indistinguishable from conventional mineral base oils they give formulators a straightforward stepping stone to improve the sustainable performance of their portfolio.
SIPTECH
The SIPTECH range of technical white oils represent a versatile series of base oils designed for applications that require high purity, low aromatic, colourless and odourless oils with good pour points and flash points. They are available in a viscosity range from 10 to 100cSt at 40°C and typically meet FDA 21 CFR 178.3620 (b) and FDA 21 CFR 573.680 regulations, which enable them to be used in food grade lubricants conforming to the NSF H1 and HX1 performance for incidental food contact.
SIP ID
The SIP ID (Isomerised Dewaxed) range, which includes ID LP (Isomerised Dewaxed Low Pour), are highly refined, catalytically cracked base oils, which are predominantly iso-paraffinic in character. The high proportion of iso-paraffins lowers the crystallisation temperature and so these oils have excellent low temperature fluidity, low Noack volatilities and when blended with appropriate additives, provide excellent oxidation and thermal stability, equivalent to that of Group IV Polyalphaolefins (PAOs).
SIPBASE
A comprehensive range of high quality base oils, providing the formulator with the flexibility to produce a wide range of quality Industrial and Automotive lubricants.
Process Oils
By definition, a process oil can be used in a wide variety of applications, not as a lubricant but as a raw material or a processing aid. As such, a wide variety of oils and fluids can act as process oils and the quality of the process oil is normally dictated by the application into which it is being used.
A number of SIP’s product brands act as process oils including:
SIPTECH
SIPTECH technical white oils are extensively used as process oils and carrier fluids for the manufacture of defoamants in the paper and pulp manufacturing industry as well as sealant extender oils. The low viscosity SIPTECH fluids are used for printing ink distillates, offering good solvency and low volatility with no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s).
SIPMED
Pharmaceutical white oils meeting the requirements of the European Plastics Regulations (No 10/2011) (SIPMED 68 and above) are used as process oils where the end application is typically for food contact such as Polystyrene production for food packaging, or where a highly UV stable oil is required to guard against yellowing in white rubbers or medicinal rubber processing.
