J1 Technologies, incorporated in 1999, is a speciality chemical company focused on the development of formulated products and surface active agents, through application testing and research.
J1 Technologies was one of the first chemical companies in the UK to be issued, by the Environment Agency, a permit under The Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) regulations, to manufacture Surface Active Agents (Surfactants), involving reaction.
Based in Trafford Park, Manchester, at the heart of the UK motorway network, and minutes from Manchester International Airport, J1 Technologies world-wide customer base can access our facilities and services quickly and easily.
Speciality processes include:
Phosphation, sulphation, esterification, amidation, neutralisation, emulsification, dispersion.
J1 Technologies also offer manufacturing of products based on the customer’s formulations from small trial batches to bulk quantities. Products are made to ISO 9001 standards using procedures that have a low impact on the environment.
Manufacturing Facilities
In 2010 J1Technologies invested in manufacturing equipment and laboratory facilities, moving to a 23,000 square foot modern industrial building which accommodates the factory, warehouse, sales and laboratory facilities under one roof.
On site facilities include:
- Manufacturing by flexible batch processes to an annual capacity of around 12,000 tons per annum.
- Reactors from 400 litres to 10,000 litres with hot oil heating coils and jacket heating.
- Stainless steel and Polypropylene blending vessels for 1,000 to 10,000 litre size batches.
- Pilot plant facilities for process development of between 20 to 400 litres.
- Gas heated ovens for melting of solids, filtration units and separate weigh scales.
- On-site warehousing
- Laboratories for quality control, analysis, reaction process development, formulation, application testing.
Laboratory Facilities
Two laboratories are used for product development and quality control and are fully supplied with relevant equipment, reagents and services. Expert personnel are involved with both development and QC to include experienced qualified chemists and chemical engineers.
Our product range has evolved by working closely with our customers to solve problems and optimise performance in a wide range of industrial processes. Currently it encompasses a combination of standard products and unique formulations specifically designed to meet the requirements of individual customers.
J1 Technologies laboratory facilities support a product development programme designed to assist customers specific application requirements. A flexible and responsive approach ensures that technical requests are responded to rapidly with provision of technical information and product samples where appropriate.
