Holiferm won the Innovation Award at the Chemicals Northwest Awards 2022 for our patented gravity separation fermentation technology.

We are the first in the world to use this technology and once complete our commercial plant will be the largest of its kind in the UK. We are already selling our sophorolipids to companies in France, Germany, Italy and the UK.
Our award-winning and innovative technology allows us to produce our biosurfactants using a continuous cyclical method. This is more economically friendly that the current norm for surfactants of batch production. We use a yeast, naturally derived from honey, to ferment our sophorolipids. This means they are also environmentally friendly. Our mission is to disrupt the market and provide a sustainable and effective alternative to petrochemical based surfactants.
We supply our sophorolipids HoneySurf and HoliSurf to both big and small companies and are happy to partner with others to explore new opportunities”.
