Brenntag Cosmetics report on their recent success at this year’s SCS Formulate 2015.
The team were joined by a number of global manufacturers such as BlueStar Silicones, Cargill, Colonial Chemical Inc, Premier Biomaterials, Textron, Seven Scent. One of the highlights on the Brenntag stand was the naturals theme which continues to become a consumer focus.
Helen Allinson-James, Head of Life Sciences , Brenntag UK & Ireland, said: “This year we decided to focus on creativity and fresh ideas with novel ingredients such as Cosmos/Ecocert surfactants, renewable carbon sources, naturals and vegetable derivatives”.
A number of new formulations developed by our Brenntag European Cosmetics formulation and technical laboratory were showcased, including:
- Micellar Water
A modern day essential for the skin care maintenance product range, the Micellar Water contains Colonial Chemical’s Poly Suga®Mulse D-9, which is 100% bio-based, registered on the NPA and EcoCert approved. The product has been formulated with other key ingredients to enhance efficacy from other key suppliers such as Corbion and Akzo Nobel.
- Ultra Mild Colour Protection Shampoo
A non-irritating, sulphate- and EO-free shampoo that contains Mirasil ADME-P from Bluestar Silicones. Other innovative ingredients used in the formulation include Akzo Nobel, Colonial Chemical Inc, and Seven Scent Fragrances.
- Moisturising Body Lotion
A PEG-free, ultra moisturising and skin rejuvenating lotion based on key ingredients from Dow, Colonial Chemical, Inc. and Seven Scent Fragrances.
The formulations further expand the already extensive formulations library and product database, building on the expertise Brenntag team is keen to share with the customers.
Roser Casas, Laboratory Manager from Bluestar Silicones, delivered an engaging technical presentation focusing on the key aspects of the innovative Mirasil range for hair care products. Francois Bouton, Brenntag’s European Business Development Manager for Cosmetics, focused on natural choices for preservation and preservation boosters.
